Hilton Continues Penetrating Romanian Market

Hilton Worldwide (formerly, Hilton Hotels Corporation), a subsidiary of the Blackstone Group, will bring Hilton's Hampton economy class hotel brand to Romania, and launch it in the province, company representatives announced.

"The hotel will be three-stars and open in Brasov in mid 2011, competing with Ibis and Express by Holiday Inn chains," said Michael Collini, VP Development Southern Europe & Africa.

Hampton Hotel in Brasov will be the third hotel under this brand in Europe, and have an accommodation capacity of 104 rooms. "Future Invest is the company owner, but details about the investment will be announced later," said Adela Cristea, development director of Hilton for Europe and Africa.

According to officials, over the next three months, the group will bring a new brand to the Romanian market, the Hilton Garden Inn, for the target locations of Iasi, Cluj, Constanta, Craiova and Timisoara.
